Carol J. Barr Endowed Scholarship
For more than twenty years, Carol J. Barr was the health informatics program director for the Department of Health Management and Informatics in the UCF College of Health and Public Affairs. In her role, Carol mentored countless students and professionals who are now paying it forward and mentoring current students. Carol is very well respected in the Central Florida community and many local professionals know her. In 1995-96, Barr was recognized with the university’s award for Excellence in Faculty Academic Advising.
Must be enrolled as full-time or part-time undergraduate student, entering their senior year, in the Health Informatics and Information Management Program.
Must have a minimum overall 2.8 GPA and overall 3.3 HPA in health information management course work
Preference shall be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
Must provide a current resume
Must provide two (2) letters of reference with one letter of reference from each of the following:
Health Information Management faculty member
This letter should emphasize leadership qualities
Any other previous instructor or previous/present employer
Must submit 250 word answer to each of the following questions:
