Bank of America Florida's Community Scholars Program

Purpose:
The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide awards to first-time in college students who demonstrate a history of community service and academic merit.

Criteria:

  • Must be a first-time in college (FTIC) student entering a state public university.
  • Must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.3.
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate financial need as defined by the university’s financial aid office.
  • Recipient must demonstrate a history of community service.
  • To be considered for renewal, applicant(s) must maintain continuous enrollment and scholarship eligibility will not exceed a maximum of eight (8) semesters, or four (4) years.

Renewal Criteria:

  • Recipient must volunteer a minimum of 50 hours per academic year to a community agency or an elementary school, middle, or high school.
  • Recipient must maintain an annual cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Recipient must comply will all university regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus.

Limitations:
This Scholarship cannot pay over a student’s Financial Need. Financial Need is the difference between a student’s Cost of Attendance (COA) and a student’s Student Aid Index (SAI). Additional information about COA can be found at https://www.ucf.edu/financial-aid/cost/.

Renewable:
Yes. Applicant may receive the award up to eight (8) semesters, or four (4) years, as long as applicant meets renewal criteria each year and an A2O application is completed each year of renewal eligibility.
