Presidio Future Built Scholarship Award

Presidio is committed to empowering women and underrepresented groups in technology to develop and advance their careers through our diverse and inclusive community network and culture. Presidio has established a scholarship program to assist students pursuing an undergraduate degree in a STEM-related field at select four-year colleges.

Applicants to The Presidio Future Built Scholarship Award must:
Meet either or both of the following two criteria:
-Self-identify as a racial or ethnic minority
-Self-identify as female
-Be current college undergraduates majoring in a STEM-related field (excluding medical-related fields) at one of the following four-year colleges or universities:
California Baptist University
Connecticut State University
Coppin State University
Duke University
Florida A&M University
Florida Atlantic University
Georgetown University
Georgia State University
Miami Dade College
Oklahoma State University
Purdue University
St. Johns University
University of Arkansas
University of Central Florida
University of Notre Dame
Yale University
-Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at one of the eligible colleges or universities listed above for the entire upcoming academic year
-Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
-Have previously volunteered in their community

Selection of Recipients
Scholarship finalists are selected on the basis of:
-Academic record
-Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities (including volunteer experience)
-Work experience
-Statement of goals and aspirations
-Unusual personal or family circumstances
-Four (4) letters of recommendation (two from professors and two from current or previous work or volunteer supervisors)
-Financial need will be highly considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.
-Selection of finalists is made by Scholarship America. Two (2) finalists from each eligible college or university, with the exception of the University of Arkansas, in which four (4) finalists will be selected. A selection committee, made up of executives from Presidio and each college/university will select the award recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $10,000 award. Up to seventeen (17) awards will be granted. One (1) recipient will be selected per eligible college or university, with the exception of the University of Arkansas, in which two (2) recipients will be selected. Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Awards are for undergraduate study only.

All applicants will be notified in the November/December timeframe. Payment of Scholarships Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Presidio. Payment will be made in the December/January timeframe.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:
A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
A copy of the 2019 IRS Form 1040 which was used to complete the Financial Information section. Block out all social security numbers. Submit a note of explanation if a 2019 IRS Form 1040 was not filed.
Four letters of recommendation: Two letters from the specific college/university professors and two from current or previous work or volunteer supervisors. (One page maximum length)
