Hundred Club of Broward County Endowed Scholarship

Purpose:
The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide awards to University students.

Criteria:

Dependents of Deceased or Disabled Broward County Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters, or Peace Officers

  • Student must be a dependent, spouse, or child of a deceased or disabled Broward County law enforcement officer, firefighter, or peace officer.
  • Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) 2.0.
  • Degree-seeking and enrolled at least half time (6 credit hours).
  • Award of up to $5,000 per academic year to include, but not limited to, all “cost of education” expenses such as tuition, fees, books, parking, transportation, housing and living expenses.

Dependents of Living Broward County Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters, or Peace Officers

  • Student must be a dependent, spouse, or child of a living Broward County law enforcement officer, firefighter, or peace officer.
  • Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) 2.0.
  • Degree-seeking and enrolled at least half time (6 credit hours).
  • Award of no less than $1,000 or an award based on financial need as specified with a current FAFSA form with the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Dependents of Broward County Veterans Killed in the Line of Duty

  • Student must be a dependent, spouse, or child of a U.S. veteran from Broward County killed in the line of duty.
  • Minimum Grade Point Average 2.0.
  • Degree-seeking and enrolled at least half time (6 credit hours).
  • A maximum award to include, but not limited to, all “cost of education” expenses such as tuition, fees, books, parking, transportation, housing and living expenses.

Definitions:
Applicants must provide documentation that correlates with one of the following:

  • Dependents of Deceased or Disabled Broward County Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters, or Peace Officers
  • Dependents of Living Broward County Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters, or Peace Officers
  • Dependents of Broward County Veterans Killed in the Line of Duty

Examples of documentation could include: death certificate, identification badge that indicates department, DD Form 1300, etc.

Limitations:
This Scholarship cannot pay over a student’s Cost of Attendance (COA). COA is the estimated amount it will cost a student to attend the university. Additional information about COA can be found at https://www.ucf.edu/financial-aid/cost/.
