The Uplifting Communities Scholarship

What We Look for in Applicants
To be considered a viable candidate for our Spring 2025 Uplifting Communities Scholarship, you must:

  • Show a demonstrated commitment and involvement in uplifting underserved communities through volunteerism and advocacy
  • Be enrolled at and in good academic standing with an accredited college or university
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 2.7
  • Be at least 17 years of age or older
  • Be a United States citizen or permanent resident

Navigating the Application Process

  • To apply for our scholarship, please include proof of enrollment for the Spring 2025 semester and your contact information.
  • Share your unique perspective through a creative video that showcases your passion and commitment to uplifting underprivileged communities through economic empowerment.
    Applicants are asked to respond to one of the following prompts in the form of a two-minute video essay:
    Describe a moment when you made a positive impact in your community. What motivated you, and what did you learn from the experience?
    or
    Highlight a community leader or organization that has inspired you. What lessons can you draw from their work to impact your own community?

How Winners Are Chosen
The application process is thorough and takes approximately four weeks to evaluate all submissions. Our selection committee will assess each application based on the following criteria:

  • The student has made a tangible impact within their community. This includes demonstrating leadership, initiating positive change, and actively contributing to community development projects or initiatives
  • The student has written a thoughtful and well-constructed video submission.
  • The student meets all eligibility criteria and has submitted all requested documentation.
