Light the Way Endowed Scholarship for Social Work

Along with his wife, Maria, Daniel Voss (‘74) established this scholarship for students in the UCF College of Nursing and the School of Social Work. The Vosses believe that nurses and social workers “light the way” for patients, clients and the community. Recipient Criteria:
o Must be enrolled as a full-time or part-time undergraduate student majoring in social work
o Must be enrolled as a junior or senior
o Must have a minimum overall 3.0 GPA
o Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
o Must provide a brief essay (not to exceed two pages) on how planning to help ""light the way"" for others as progressing through life
o Preference, in order of priority, is given to:
-A student who, based on the selection committee’s evaluation of the essay and knowledge of the candidate, best exemplifies the practice of Lighting the Way for others through selfless service
-A student who is involved with community outreach in under-served populations
-A first-generation college student
-A student with a disability
