UCF Rugby Endowed Scholarship

Purpose:
The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide awards to undergraduate students at UCF with previous rugby experience.

Criteria:

• Recipients must be a full-time undergraduate student, attending UCF, working on their first degree. Exceptions are allowed for graduating seniors who are not full-time.
• The student must document that they are eligible to play for UCF Rugby Club in a national collegiate competition according to the criteria set by USA Rugby.
• Recipient must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and be an incoming or active member of the UCF Rugby Club.
• Applicant preference will be given to students with a recommendation from the UCF Alumni Rugby Club.

Definitions:
USA Rugby dictates player eligibility as:

• Must represent the University of Central Florida in qualifying competition.
• Must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate in their first-degree program.
• Must be in good standing as defined by the university.
• Collegiate eligibility has a seven-year window, beginning the year after high school graduation. During this window, students may participate in the Rugby Club for up to five years of college before eligibility is expired. Exceptions and Waivers may be available through USA Rugby.

Incoming members must demonstrate previous rugby experience and must become active members in the UCF Men’s or Women’s Rugby Team to be considered for the scholarship.

Limitations:
This Scholarship cannot pay over a student’s Cost of Attendance (COA). COA is the estimated amount it will cost a student to attend the university. Additional information about COA can be found at https://www.ucf.edu/financial-aid/cost/.

Renewable:
Yes. The same student may receive the award more than once. Previous recipients must reapply through A2O to be considered for the renewal.
