Lois Holt Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate and verify a financial need and have a GPA of 2.5 or better.

Consideration will be given to those persons who intend to apply themselves in areas of greater need; i.e. minority areas, linguistically acute geographical areas, areas of study dealing with improving the environment, and advancement of reading, writing and arithmetic as basic skills required in the marketplace.

Applicants majoring in environmental engineering, social work& education, English language arts and vocational education and industry training could all be examples of appropriate courses of study.

Applicants shall submit a 500 word self-expression as to their plans for the future and their reasons for applying themselves in their chosen vocation and/or area of emphasis.

Applicants shall provide three personal references, excluding family members. These persons should be acquainted with the applicant for a period of at least one year or more. At least one of the three references should be acquainted with the applicant’s academic or job related background.

Emphasis will be on female applicants, although male applicants will be considered.

There shall be no restriction with regard to race, religion age or political persuasion.
