Russ Marek Medical Endowed Scholarship
The Russ Marek Medical Endowed Scholarship was established by alumnus Adam Marek and his family in honor of his brother, Russ Marek. Russ was severely injured while serving in the U.S. Army, and is the recipient of a Purple Heart, combat action medal and Bronze Star of Bravery. Adam credits Russ’s journey and miraculous recovery as the inspiration for his successful career in medical marketing specific to orthopedic sales. Recipient Criteria
At the time the scholarship is disbursed, the student:
o Must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
o Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
o Must submit an essay describing how military or community service influenced the decision to pursue physical therapy
o Must have demonstrated academic merit as determined by University guidelines established by the University Office of Student financial Assistance
o Preference will be given to veterans and members of the ROTC
