1969 Club Scholarship Fund
Purpose:
This scholarship supports students enrolled at the university.
Criteria:
- Applicant(s) must be a full-time or part-time student at the University.
- Applicant(s) must demonstrate financial need based upon guidelines set forth in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Preference will be given to members of the following approved University student organizations: Black Student Union, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Caribbean Students’ Association, and National Society of Black Engineers.
- Preference will be given to applicants who are enrolled in or have completed a course within the department of History, such as but not limited to: Intro to Africana Studies, The African Diaspora, or the Evolution of Hip Hop.
Definitions:
- The Black Student Union (BSU) is a UCF organization that serves as the official voice for the black community. Additional information about BSU can be found at: https://knightconnect.campuslabs.com/engage/organization/blackstudentunion.
- The National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. (NPHC) is a coalition of the nine largest historically African American Greek-letter fraternities and sororities. Additional information about the NPHC can be found at: https://fsl.sdes.ucf.edu/nphc-chapters/.
- The Caribbean Students’ Association (CSA) is a UCF organization whose purpose is to foster a cultural bridge between the Caribbean and the United States. Additional information about CSA can be found at: https://knightconnect.campuslabs.com/engage/organization/caribbeanstudentsassociation.
- The National Society of Black Engineers (SBE) mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community. Additional information about SBE can be found at: https://www.nsbeucf.org/.
To qualify for the student organization preference, applicants should provide proof of membership, which could include but is not limited to: Knight Connect documentation that indicates membership/involvement, receipt of membership dues, membership card, etc.

To qualify for the course preference, applicants should provide their enrollment summary for either the current Spring semester or future Fall semester, or proof of completion for a prior semester, such as an unofficial transcript, degree audit, etc.
Limitations:
This Scholarship cannot pay over the student’s Cost of Attendance (COA) or Financial Need. COA is the estimated amount it will cost a student to attend the university. Financial Need is the difference between the student’s COA and a student’s Student Aid Index (SAI). Additional information about COA can be found at: https://www.ucf.edu/financial-aid/cost/.
