Lavender Endowed Scholarship
Purpose:
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide scholarship support to full-time undergraduate students who self-identity within the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning) community.
Criteria:
- Must be a full-time undergraduate student.
- Preference will be given to students who self-identify with the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning) community and are active in a University registered students’ organization that supports the LGBTQ+ community, such as but not limited to, Pride Student Association, Lavender Council, Out in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, Multicultural Student Center, or Out & Active.
- Preference given to individuals with a personal connection to the transgender community.
- Preference given to students with a grade point average (GPA) under 3.0.
Limitations:
This Scholarship cannot pay over a student’s Cost of Attendance (COA). COA is the estimated amount it will cost a student to attend the university. Additional information about COA can be found at https://www.ucf.edu/financial-aid/cost/.

- Lavender Council is a student advisory board that serves as a liaison between students, faculty, and staff and LGBTQ+ Services. More information found at: https://sja.sdes.ucf.edu/lgbtq/.
- Out in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics is a professional development organization focused on uniting students of STEM majors and LGBTQ+ identities. More information found at: https://ostemucf.wixsite.com/ostemucf.
- Multicultural Student Center is an organization whose mission is to create a more inclusive and equitable campus environment that enriches the university experience through actively supporting diverse and intentional programming. - Out & Active is a UCF group who create and advocates for a queer-inclusive environment that encourages everyone to achieve their most authentic and healthiest life at UCF. More information found at: https://linktr.ee/outandactiveucf.
To meet preference one, applicant should provide documentation that demonstrates involvement in a University registered students’ organization that supports the LGBTQ+ community. Examples of documentation could include: Knight Connect documentation that indicates membership/involvement, receipt of membership dues, membership card, etc.
