Smithberger Family Fund
Criteria:
- Applicant(s) must be enrolled at the University as a full-time undergraduate student in the College of Business Administration.
- Applicant(s) must be a first-generation college student.
- Preference will be given to member(s) of a Hispanic Student Association at UCF.
- Preference will be given to applicant(s) that demonstrate active involvement in the community.
- This Scholarship may be renewed.
Scholarships considered for the First Generation Matching Grant Program may change every year. If the scholarship is selected to be a part of the First Generation Matching Grant Program, students must meet the following additional criteria:
- Be a Florida resident and a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
- Have a complete, error-free FAFSA showing financial need for the current aid year.
- Be considered a “First Generation” student (neither parent has earned a bachelor’s degree or higher).
- Be pursuing their first bachelor’s degree.
- Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (https://www.ucf.edu/financial-aid/policies/satisfactory-academic-progress/).
- Not have defaulted on or owe a refund to any prior aid program.
- Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at UCF each Fall and/or Spring as a degree-seeking undergraduate student.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
- Have attempted no more than 132 credit hours.
Limitations:
This Scholarship cannot pay over the student’s Cost of Attendance (COA). COA is the estimated amount it will cost a student to attend the university. Additional information about COA can be found at: https://www.ucf.edu/financial-aid/cost/.
Renewable:
Yes. Scholarship may be awarded to the same student in successive semesters until graduation provided that funds are available, the recipient maintains the award criteria, the recipient completes an A2O application each year, and if the scholarship is not considered for the First Generation Matching Grant.
