First Generation Matching Grant Award

This application is for consideration for the First Generation Matching Grant Program and all of the associated first generation scholarships for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters.

This scholarship is a part of the First Generation Matching Grant Program. To be eligible, students must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Be a Florida resident and a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  • Have a complete, error-free FAFSA showing financial need for the current aid year.
  • Be considered a “First Generation” student (neither parent has earned a bachelor’s degree or higher).
  • Be pursuing their first bachelor’s degree.
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (https://www.ucf.edu/financial-aid/policies/satisfactory-academic-progress/).
  • Not have defaulted on or owe a refund to any prior aid program.
  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at UCF each Fall and/or Spring as a degree-seeking undergraduate student.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
  • Have attempted no more than 132 credit hours.

Definitions:

  • Students whose parents completed a college degree abroad would not be considered First Generation students.

Limitations:
This Scholarship cannot pay over the student’s Cost of Attendance (COA). COA is the estimated amount it will cost a student to attend the university. Additional information about COA can be found at: https://www.ucf.edu/financial-aid/cost/.
