Freddie Scholarship for LGBTQIA+ Students
Eligibility
All candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled, or intending to enroll for the 2024/2025 school year, as a full-time student at an accredited post-secondary program of study (only undergraduate students are eligible at this time) based in Virginia, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Arizona, or California. We also accept applications from high school students enrolled in full-time studies in an accredited post-secondary institution in these states.
- Post-secondary institutions include colleges, universities, and vocational schools
- Identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community
- Submit an essay and supporting documentation (guidelines below)
We strongly encourage applications from students who are Black, Indigenous, and other people of color; members of Disabled communities; HIV-positive people; and/or trans or non-binary. These groups often face significant barriers to accessing education, and our goal is to help ensure that students from all backgrounds have equitable opportunities.
Students of any immigration or visa status are welcome to apply. However, please note that we do not assess applicants’ enrollment eligibility with their educational institutions. If it is later determined that a recipient is unable to maintain enrollment due to their immigration or visa status, we reserve the right to revoke the scholarship award.
