MKFM Resilient Student Scholarship
Who is Eligible to Apply?
Eligible applicants for our Spring 2025 Resilient Student Scholarship must meet the following criteria:
- Your parents are either divorced or unmarried.
- You are enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited college or university for the Spring 2025 or Fall 2025 semester.
- You are a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
- You are 17 years of age or older.

To apply for our scholarship, students must submit these required materials:
- Proof you are enrolled in an accredited college or university for the Spring or Fall 2025 semester (accepted options may include an acceptance letter, letter of enrollment, class schedule, etc).
- Contact information
- The submission of a written essay or video essay
- For the creative portion of our application, we ask students to provide either a 500-word essay or a two-minute video essay to answer the following prompt:
Please share a personal story or experience that highlights your resilience and determination in the face of family challenges. How has growing up in a divorced or unmarried-parent household shaped your character and aspirations for the future?
How is a Winner Selected?
After the deadline has passed, our scholarship team will take approximately four weeks to review all applications and select a winner. When reviewing applications, our team will use the following evaluation criteria to determine which student will receive our award:
- The student’s application clearly demonstrates their fit to our eligibility requirements and includes all necessary requirements stated in the instructions.
- The student’s written or video essay is of high quality, providing clear and focused answers to all components of the prompt.
- The written or video essay is authentic and well-organized.
