Painters Union #1010 Endowed Scholarship

Criteria:

• Applicants must hold a 3.0 GPA.
• Applicant(s) must demonstrate financial need determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
• Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student.

Preference will be given to applicants who meet the above criteria in the following order:

1. Members or immediate family members and grandchildren of members of Painter’s Local 1010.
2. Members or immediate family members and grandchildren of members of Painter’s Local #78 (State of Florida).
3. Any immediate family member of any union member (union must be in the State of Florida).
4. Applicants who do not fall into the above categories.

Definitions:
A union is an organization of workers whose purpose is to maintain or improve the conditions of their employment.

The Painter’s Union Local 1010 is the local union (located in Orlando, FL) of the District #78 International Union Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT). Members of the unions work in the Finishing Trades as industrial and commercial painters, drywall finishers, wall coverers, glaziers, glass workers, floor covering installers, sign makers, display workers, convention and show decorators, etc. A list of other local Painter’s unions can be found at: https://dc78.org/local-unions.

Limitations:
This Scholarship cannot pay over the student’s Cost of Attendance (COA) or Financial Need. COA is the estimated amount it will cost a student to attend the university. Financial Need is the difference between the student’s COA and a student’s Student Aid Index (SAI). Additional information about COA can be found at https://www.ucf.edu/financial-aid/cost/.

Renewable:
Yes. Applicant may receive the award in successive semesters until graduation as long as funding is available, eligibility is maintained, and an A2O application is completed each year of renewal eligibility.
