Moss Family Endowed Scholarship
Criteria:
This scholarship awards two (2) groups of scholarships. Within each group, each recipient must:
- Group 1
- Be a single (separated or divorced) head of a household and have total responsibility for the care of one or more children.
- Demonstrate exceptional financial need ($5,000 or more) as determined by the requirements set forth in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Be enrolled as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University with a course load of at least nine (9) semester hours each semester, or a graduate student with at least six (6) semester hours.
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA (undergraduate recipients) and 3.0 GPA (graduate recipients).
- Group 2
- Be working part-time (at least 10 hours per week) during the Fall and Spring semesters to help defray their expenses.
- Demonstrate exceptional financial need ($5,000 or more) as determined by the requirements set forth in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Be enrolled as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University with a course load of at least nine (9) semester hours each semester, or a graduate student with at least six (6) semester hours.
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA (undergraduate recipients) and 3.0 GPA (graduate recipients).
Definitions:
Applicant(s) who are single parents, or head of households, must provide proof of custody of one or more children to be considered for Group 1. Examples could include custody paperwork, birth certificate, divorce paperwork, etc.
Limitations:
This Scholarship cannot pay over the student’s Cost of Attendance (COA) or Financial Need. COA is the estimated amount it will cost a student to attend the university. Financial Need is the difference between the student’s COA and a student’s Student Aid Index (SAI). Additional information about COA can be found at https://www.ucf.edu/financial-aid/cost/.
Renewable:
Yes. Applicant may receive the award in successive semesters until graduation as long as funding is available, eligibility is maintained, and an A2O application is completed each year of renewal eligibility.
