The Presidio Future Built Scholarship
Eligibility:
Applicants to The Presidio Future Built Scholarship Award must:
- Self-identify as a racial or ethnic minority
AND/OR - Self-identify as female
AND
Be current college undergraduates majoring in a technology-related field (examples include: - Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Data Science) at one of the following four-year colleges or universities
- Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at one of the eligible colleges or universities listed above for the entire upcoming academic year
- Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- Have previously volunteered in their community
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship finalists are selected on the basis of:
- Academic record
- Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities (including volunteer experience)
- Work experience
- Statement of goals and aspirations
- Unusual personal or family circumstances
- An online recommendation from a professor or current or previous work or volunteer supervisor
- Financial need will be highly considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.
Awards
- If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $10,000 award. Up to nineteen (19) awards will be granted. One (1) recipient will be selected per eligible college or university, with the exception of the University of Arkansas, from which four (4) recipients will be selected.
- Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
- Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Required Materials:
As part of your application, you must upload the following:
A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
- Student name
- School name
- Grades
- Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
- A copy of the first two pages of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040 which was used to complete the Financial Information section. Block out all social security numbers. Submit a note of explanation if an IRS Form 1040 was not filed.
- Also, one online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than February 19, 2025 3:00 pm CT.
