$1,000 Community Leaders Scholarship Opportunity
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
To apply for the Community Leaders Scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:
- Low to medium income – An applicant must be from a household with an annual family income of $100,000 or less.
- Community service – An applicant must have a demonstrated interest in service to their community, with a history of volunteer work or other forms of community involvement.
- Field of study – A student must be enrolled in or planning to enter a program in the fields of criminal justice or law enforcement, or they must be enrolled in or planning to attend law school.
- Age – A person must be at least 17 years old on the date they submit their application.
- Legal status in the United States – An applicant must be a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
Application Instructions
Please fill out the form at the bottom of this page to apply for the Community Leaders Scholarship. Your application must include documentation providing proof of enrollment in a program in a qualifying field of study, as well as evidence of family income. You must also include an essay of between 200 and 300 words answering the following prompt:
“How will this scholarship help you achieve your professional goals and allow you to give back to your local community?”
Evaluation of Scholarship Applications
Our scholarship team will evaluate all entries and select a winner. The criteria we use when reviewing applications include:
- Does the applicant meet all eligibility requirements?
- Is the applicant’s essay well-written and well-organized?
- Does the applicant demonstrate a desire to improve their community?
