Biederman & Burleson Champions of Justice Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria:
Students must be:

• Undergraduates interested in pursuing a career in law
• Attending college in the Spring 2025 or Fall 2025 semester
• Permanent residents/citizens of the United States
• At least 17 years of age

Applying for Our Scholarship
Prospective applicants interested in applying for our scholarship are asked to submit:

• Proof of enrollment at an accredited college or university (this may include an acceptance letter, class schedule, or unofficial transcript)
• Unofficial academic transcripts from your most recently completed year in school
• Contact information
• Essay submission

Essay Question
The scholarship application asks students to submit an essay of 250 to 500 words answering the following prompt:
What do you hope to achieve professionally in the field of law, and how will this scholarship help you reach your goals?

Recipient Selection Criteria
It will take approximately four weeks for us to review all applications and select our winner. We hope to announce our winner no later than May 7, 2025. The student selected as our winner will receive an email notification. When selecting a winner, the Biederman & Burleson Scholarship Committee will evaluate based on the following criteria:

1. The applicant provided an essay of high quality that clearly demonstrates an interest in law.
2. The applicant answered the prompt entirely and in a coherent, forthright manner.
3. The applicant meets all eligibility criteria and submits all requested materials.
