Justice in Family Law Scholarship

Who is Eligible to Apply?
To apply for the Justice in Family Law Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You are enrolled (or will be) in an accredited undergraduate or J.D. program at a U.S. college or university for Fall 2025
  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You are a U.S. citizen
  • You have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5

Application Instructions
Your application should include an essay of 500-1,500 words in response to one of the prompts listed below. Essays must be submitted as a PDF file and include at least one citation.

A.) What is an injustice that you see in the implementation and enforcement of family law in the U.S.? How can this injustice be rectified?
B.) Discuss the effect divorce has on the behavior and emotions of children. Students may explore how the experience can shape a child’s understanding of emotional well-being, relationships, self-esteem, and overall behavior.
In addition to your essay, we ask that you submit an academic transcript, a professional photograph of yourself, and contact information including your address, phone number, and email address.

Judging Criteria
Our team will review all applications and select a scholarship recipient using the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated passion for the practice and betterment of family law
  • Essay meets all requirements including PDF format, citations, and structure.
  • Originality, thoughtfulness, and writing quality of the essay
