Iron Galaxy Diversity in Gaming Endowed Scholarship
Iron Galaxy seeks to help build a more dynamic and innovative future for gaming. The purpose of the fund is to further this mission by providing scholarship awards to graduate students at the University enrolled in the Interactive Entertainment MS Program within the college’s Florida Interactive Entertainment
Academy.
This scholarship supports graduate students in the Nicholson School of Communication and Media.
Recipients will be selected based on the following established criteria:
- Applicant(s) must be enrolled in a gaming related major.
- Preference for any of the following students:
– Non-traditional students; and/or
– Students with a demonstrated ability in promoting the value of a game design career to audiences unfamiliar with the science, business and creative process in the game design profession; and/or
– Students who submit an essay (not to exceed 500 words) that explores the applicant’s perspective as a non-traditional voice in game development. This could include:
( a ) A personal reflection on their journey into gaming.
( b ) A concept for a non-traditional character or game narrative.
( c ) A description of how they would approach game development in a non-traditional way.

Types of Expenditures: This scholarship, to the extent funds are available, may be used to pay for tuition, textbooks, fees, and any other items included in the cost of education published annually by the University.
