Russ Marek Medical Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded this upcoming Fall semester.
The Russ Marek Medical Endowed Scholarship was established by alumnus Adam Marek and his family in honor of his brother, Russ Marek. Russ was severely injured while serving in the U.S. Army, and is the recipient of a Purple Heart, combat action medal and Bronze Star of Bravery. Adam credits Russ’s journey and miraculous recovery as the inspiration for his successful career in medical marketing specific to orthopedic sales.
This scholarship supports students in the physical therapy program in the College of Health Professions and Sciences.
Recipients will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student in the College of Health Professions and Sciences in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
- Must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
- Applicant may be required to submit an essay describing how the military or community service influenced the decision to pursue physical therapy.
- Applicant has demonstrated academic merit as determined by the University guidelines established by University Office of Student Financial Aid.
- Preference will be given to veterans and members of ROTC.
