Project Prompt
“Real Stories: The Ripple Effect of Negligence”
Interview someone who has suffered an injury due to negligence — or reflect on your own experience if you were a victim — such as a motor vehicle crash, slip and fall, construction accident, or other preventable accident. With permission (or anonymization), write a reflective essay of 400 to 600 words exploring:
- The Story: What happened, and what caused the injury?
- The Impact: Physical, emotional, financial, family-related, or educational effects.
- Responsibility: What actions or failures contributed to the injury?
- Prevention: Realistic measures that could prevent similar incidents.
- Lessons Learned: How this story shaped your understanding of safety and justice.
Students are encouraged to alter names and identifying details to protect the privacy of their interview subject.
