Daniel Alain's Confidence Through Hair Loss Scholarship

Who Can Apply
We are looking for undergraduates currently enrolled in accredited universities within the United States and high school seniors who have been accepted into a university program.

We welcome applications from students whose lives have been impacted by hair loss due to cancer treatment, alopecia, or other medical conditions, as well as those pursuing careers dedicated to supporting these individuals. This includes students studying fields such as oncology supportive care, nursing, psychology, dermatology, cosmetology, trichology, and patient advocacy.

If you are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals experiencing hair loss and are committed to your academic journey, we encourage you to apply.

How to Apply
Write a 500-word essay on one of the following topics:

  1. Confidence and Identity
    Hair loss can affect confidence, identity, and emotional well-being. Describe how experiencing hair loss, either personally or through a loved one, has shaped your perspective and sense of self.
  2. Supporting the Patient Experience
    Cancer treatment often impacts more than physical health. Discuss how compassionate care, supportive resources, or personal experiences can improve the quality of life for individuals undergoing treatment.
  3. Confidence in the Healing Journey
    Confidence plays an important role in emotional well-being and recovery. Explain how self-image, appearance, and support systems can influence healing and overall quality of life.
  4. Making a Meaningful Impact
    How can professionals in healthcare, beauty, or wellness better support individuals experiencing medical hair loss? Share your perspective on how your future goals or experiences can contribute to helping others feel confident and supported through their journey.
