UCF Global: The Lewis Foundation Scholarship

The Lewis Foundation Scholarship seeks to provide funding for students from the Commonwealth of The Bahamas for education and related expenses to study at UCF.

The Lewis Foundation Scholarship will award international students from the Bahamas up to $25,000. This scholarship will cover all educational expenses for one academic year, including tuition at the resident rate, living expenses, and other fees from the University. This unique scholarship is renewable for four years based on the student maintaining good academic standing at the University.
Considerations:
• A total of eight (8) applicants will be selected for the Lewis Foundation Scholarship award for the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters.
o Fall 2023– 4 awardees
o Spring 2024 – 4 awardees
• Selected applicants will be given a time period to accept the award upon notification; in the event of decline (or non-reply), alternate, qualified awardees may be selected.
• Awardees will be considered tentative until UCF admission and enrollment is verified.
• Current students and future applicants to UCF who are interested in this scholarship opportunity must fill out the Lewis Foundation Scholarship Application before the corresponding application deadline.

• July 3 – July 17 Committee Review Period
• July 18 Applicants Notified

Spring 2024
• August 14, 2023 Application Period Opens
• November 3, 2023 Application Period Closes
• November 6 – November 17 Committee Review Period
• November 20, 2023 Applicants Notified

Eligibility Requirements
Recipients will be selected based on the following established criteria:

• The Lewis Foundation Scholarship is open to undergraduate students only
• Applicants must be citizens coming from the Bahamas and must have graduated from a high school located in the Bahamas
• Applicants must demonstrate financial need through supporting documentation
• Applicants must demonstrate and maintain good academic standing (minimum of 3.0 GPA).
• Applicants must submit an essay detailing why they should be considered for this scholarship and detailing their desire to have a positive future impact in the Bahamas
• Awarded students must be enrolled full time (12 credits Undergraduate) in a Bachelor’s degree program
• Awarded students must have a current and valid immigration status

Please note: The Lewis Foundation Scholarship may be used for fall and spring semesters only (it cannot be awarded for summer semesters).
